Virtue is a fork of Liquity, an over-collateralized stablecoin borrowing platform on Shimmer with 0% interest rates. You can use SMR and other yet to be announced assets as collateral to take out a loan in the stablecoin vUSD.

Virtue provides you with additional liquidity in the form of the stablecoin vUSD with 0% interest without the need to sell your collateral. The Stability Pool employs an incentivized approach to efficiently liquidate risky debt positions. Virtue will support multiple assets as collateral in the future and will provide a passive income from the deployment of the collateral within safe DeFi strategies to return a real yield for the users. Virtue has plans to wrap vUSD on Shimmer L1 and becoming the first stablecoin capable of transferring USD value feelessly, securely and transparently across any network.

The Stability Pool acts as a mechanism to maintain the stability of the system and ensures the protocol can automatically liquidate risky positions when the collateral ratio falls below a threshold of 110% without the requirement for DEX liquidity and slippage of the assets value.

Virtue operates with two tokens: vUSD as the stablecoin and VIRTUE as the utility token. The stablecoin vUSD serves as a reliable medium for loan disbursements, while maintaining a 1:1 peg to the US Dollar. VIRTUE is the platform’s utility token and serves as an incentivization reward for depositing vUSD into the Stability Pool. VIRTUE holders can stake their tokens to earn the fees generated by loan issuance and repayments.
